Our vision

Working together for a just Amsterdam

The foundation "Pak mijn Hand" ("Take my Hand") reaches out to all children in Amsterdam who are disadvantaged, excluded and discriminated against in education, care and the labour market.

We connect these children with powerful networks of neighbourhoods, women's organisations, families, companies and educational institutions, so they can discover new worlds.

Since 2000 he has been fighting the disadvantage of children of immigrants, refugees and expats in education, care and the labour market. Within Pak mijn Hand he stands up for children who drop out or are excluded, and — partly based on his book with Maurice Crul and Frans Lelie about disadvantage in Amsterdam's education — works towards apologies and redress for these children and their caregivers.
